Vai surgir no Algarve uma rede de cooperação para fomentar a implementação de soluções e o consumo de energia renovável. O Memorando de Entendimento entre sete municípios algarvios foi assinado no passado dia 18 de Outubro e contou com a promoção da Agência Regional de Energia e Ambiente do Algarve (AREAL).
A aliança envolve os municípios de Albufeira, Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Loulé, Portimão e São Brás de Alportel, com a parceria da Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional (CCDR) do Algarve e surge no seguimento da iniciativa europeia “StoRES Promotion of higher penetration of Distributed PV through storage for all”, financiado através do Programa Interreg MED.
A acção surge, assim, com base nas orientações definidas pela Comissão Europeia, que destacam a importância do potencial fotovoltaico, para o desenvolvimento regional, a nível de energia renovável.
A iniciativa pretende fomentar uma estreita cooperação entre várias entidades locais, de modo a garantir uma maior implementação de soluções de armazenamento e produção de energia, nomeadamente para a produção de água quente e de electricidade, aproveitando a energia solar.
Assim, é imperativo que as autoridades sejam envolvidas nestas iniciativas de promoção de energias renováveis e sustentáveis, de forma a contribuírem de forma decisiva e com um papel fulcral e central na luta contra as alterações climáticas.
Portugal é um sítio privilegiado no que ao potencial solar diz respeito. De facto, ao longo de um ano, o nosso país dispõe de cerca de 2500 a 3200 horas de sol, um potencial que não poderá ser desaproveitado. E o Algarve não é excepção. A região é uma das que tem maior exposição solar e, dessa forma, é quase que obrigatório aproveitar todo esse potencial, com especial enfoque na energia solar.
Recorde-se que, recentemente, Lisboa apresentou a plataforma SOLIS, um espaço com informação acessível a qualquer pessoa sobre a exposição solar do local, entre outros dados.
