Manter sistemas de ventilação em funcionamento contínuo e operar sistemas de ar condicionado com “100 % de ar novo” são algumas das recomendações que a EFRIARC – Associação Portuguesa dos Engenheiros de Frio Industrial e Ar Condicionado deixou, numa comunicação dirigida aos seus associados, no passado dia 18 de Março. O documento pretende ajudar os profissionais do sector AVAC-R a fazer face ao actual contexto de pandemia.
O guia preparado pela comissão técnica da EFRIARC faz seis recomendações aos profissionais que trabalham com sistemas AVAC-R. A associação portuguesa reconhece os riscos que os profissionais do sector podem enfrentar na sua actividade, mas também o “papel importante” que os sistemas de ventilação e ar condicionado podem ter na redução dos riscos de “contaminação por via aérea no interior dos edifícios”.
Entre as medidas propostas, a EFRIARC apela ao adiamento das operações de substituição de filtros e limpeza de condutas. Para as acções deste tipo que sejam de realização indispensável, a associação adverte para a necessidade de utilização, por parte dos profissionais, de equipamentos de protecção individual, como máscaras, óculos ou luvas descartáveis.
Adicionalmente, é recomendado o prolongamento do tempo de operação dos sistemas de ventilação, “se possível”, de modo contínuo, a operação de sistemas de ar condicionado com “100 % de ar novo” e a desactivação de recuperadores de calor rotativos. É ainda recomendado que os profissionais responsáveis pela operação e manutenção dos equipamentos se assegurem de “que todos os sifões da rede de esgotos” estão “cheios com água”.
Este guia foi distribuído pelos associados da EFRIARC e a sua elaboração envolveu vogais da comissão técnica da associação provenientes de instituições académicas, gabinetes de projecto, empresas instaladoras, fiscalização e manutenção e representantes e fabricantes de equipamentos.
O recém lançado documento teve como referência, entre outros, o guia publicado pela Federação Europeia das Associações de Aquecimento, Ventilação e Ar Condicionado (REHVA).
