A Comissão Europeia quer ouvir as opiniões dos agentes do sector energético sobre o sub-programa europeu para a transição energética. O questionário, disponibilizado on-line até 27 de Abril, pretende recolher contributos sobre a implementação do programa LIFE, o principal instrumento de financiamento da União Europeia (UE) para o ambiente e a acção climática.
O programa LIFE vai, pela primeira vez, passar a incluir o sub-programa para a transição energética (Clean Energy Transition sub-programme), com o objectivo de promover o investimento na descarbonização e desencadear acção entre os diversos agentes no sector da energia. Foi no âmbito da preparação do período 2021-2027 do programa comunitário que a Comissão Europeia (CE) lançou, no passado dia 20 de Março, um questionário on-line.
A nova etapa do programa comunitário vem, assim, pedir contribuições dos actores do sector energético, sendo que, no período 2021-2027, o recém integrado sub-programa para a transição energética vai contar com financiamento de mil milhões de euros. Este sub-programa tem como objectivos o desenvolvimento e a partilha de boas práticas ao nível da implementação de políticas, a mobilização de investimentos para a transição energética e a adopção de novas tecnologias, com destaque particular para a eficiência energética e as energias renováveis. A melhoria das condições de mercado, o envolvimento cívico e o apoio à transição energética nas comunidades vulneráveis são outros dos objectivos propostos.
O programa LIFE, criado em 1992, teve um financiamento de 3,4 mil milhões de euros no período que agora termina (2014-2020).
