A SIME, que é representada em Portugal pela THERMOSITE, é um dos principais fabricantes de Caldeiras Italiano. Tem uma fábrica e uma fundição próprias. Na fundição da SIME são preparados os corpos de caldeira de ferro fundido mais evoluídos do mercado. O desenvolvimento e o controlo de qualidade é outra das grandes apostas. A SIME tem laboratórios próprios, capazes de certificar e optimizar as suas caldeiras. Deste desenvolvimento surge a caldeira UNIQA, que é a única caldeira ventilada convencional certificada. Isto foi possível graças à incorporação de um compressor nesta caldeira que permite ter rendimentos suficientes para cumprir a ERP. A grande vantagem, é que não sendo de condensação, a substituição de uma caldeira convencional pela UNIQA não obriga a substituição das chaminés existentes.
